A variety of Sapphire's PVD-coated colored stainless steel samples

​     The color of back hairline stainless steel is achieved through advanced PVD coating technology in a high-vacuum environment. In this process, Titanium or Chromium is heated and vaporized, then combined with specialized gases, allowing the vaporized material to condense and deposit directly onto the stainless steel surface to form a thin, durable, and uniform coating layer. The detailed color specifications are as follows:

  • CIE Lab: L*48 / a*0 / b*2 (±2)

  • Pantone: 424 C Approx.

  • HEX: #7A7A74 Approx.

  • CMYK: 0 / 0 / 5 / 52 Approx.

     Pantone, HEX and CMYK values are approximate references converted from measured CIE Lab values. Actual appearance may vary depending on lighting, viewing angle, surface reflection and surrounding environment.

Hairline finish stainless steel has a uniformly brushed texture with fine, parallel lines running longitudinally. This distinctive grain effectively conceals minor scratches and fingerprints, maintaining its sleek appearance over time.
